One wee change
changes everything.
changes everything.
Climate change is dangerously affecting the world’s limited freshwater supply. About half of the world’s population experiences severe water scarcity for at least part of the year.
Higher water temperatures, frequent floods and droughts, and rising sea levels can worsen water quality, introducing pathogens and increasing sediment and pesticide levels.
Groundwater in aquifers is highly sensitive to climate change. Changes in temperature, droughts, and heavy rainfall can deplete water supplies and affect water quality.
Water supplies stored in glaciers and snow cover are projected to decline, reducing water availability during warm and dry periods
Rising sea levels are causing fresh water to become salty, decreasing freshwater availability in coastal areas.
Increased summer temperatures will lead to increased demand for water resources, such as for crop irrigation.
Why wizso?
Don’t flush our planet down the toilet.
Dropping a single Wizso into the toilet bowl before or after you pee, avoids the need to flush. This enables us to save water, money and help protect the planet.
Why wizso?
Why do we need to reduce carbon emissions?
The treatment and pipeline network needed to get drinking water to our homes uses a lot of energy. It’s extremely carbon emission heavy.
That carbon contributes to climate change and with it, the risk of increasingly prolonged dry spells. Rainfall patterns will become harder to predict. Floods will become more common. That’s why it’s important to save water all year round to help make the supply more resilient as well as saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.
Across the world, one in every three people do not have access to water as clean as the water we use to flush the toilet. If freshwater is so precious, why are we flushing it down the loo every time we pee?
It’s convention. It’s learned behaviour. It’s what we’re taught to do. Wizso helps to unteach it.
Only 0.3% of all water on Planet Earth is fresh (drinkable)
We waste on average 7.5+ litres of fresh water every time we flush the loo after taking a pee.
Every time you flush, it costs around 3p in the UK.
Over 2 billion people worldwide lack access to safe drinking water.
Use has doubled in 50 years - it is unsustainable!
Water production and wastewater treatment is carbon intensive - about 7 grams per flush.
